Lab/Greenhouse Practices

Beginning with Virus free and True-to-type tested stock plants, new tissue culture cuttings are initiated every year in our lab.  In the lab, they are multiplied to order on variety-specific media under sterile conditions before being planted in our greenhouse at just the right time for rooting.  They are rooted in our greenhouse in  biodegradable paper-wrapped substrate plugs (Ellepots), and grown to field-ready size to be either shipped or picked up at just the right time for field planting.

Our facility and plants are Washington State Department of Agriculture inspected to meet all certification and phytosanitary requirements.
